FIA WEC CIRCUIT COMPANION

A stunning, interchangeable VIP centrepiece with a live augmented reality overlay.

DESIGNED WITH THE VIP SPACE IN MIND

The focus of this stage of development is to introduce an interactive table centrepiece for the corporate or VIP space.

Utilising cutting-edge augmented reality tracking, live race data and driver positions are overlaid onto a physical model of the circuit, allowing guests to follow their selected team or driver’s progress around in real-time.

Augmented Reality

The bespoke app is designed to recognise our physically mapped table through the camera of an iPad. The camera works with an overlay of a 3D modelled circuit with actual landmarks, scenery and weather to give a immersive experience of the race in real time.

Outfitted with information supplied, the Circuit Companion can feature real-time weather models and information, giving the guests an added sense of realism and information at their finger tips.

Pairing this with the data supplied by the FIA WEC, the Circuit Companion will also intergrate live tracking and positioning of drivers around the circuit along with any other information and data points required.

EASE OF USE

Live race data synced to iPad Pros entices VIP guests and allows them to get involved intuitively, watching the race unfold through numbers and sector times. The mapped and modelled circuit features scaled versions of all major landmarks and sponsor content, and is designed to recreate the physical environment as closely as possible, adding to the excitement and experience of the race.

Interchangeability

Our expert production team builds every step of the table from the ground up, making it tailorable to any event. Track inserts are removeable, and alternative circuit settings can be positioned from the built-in storage.

*For proof of concept, the styling for this table has been based on existing furniture at 'Le Mans Spirit Club'. For further development this can be redesigned in alternative materials to suit any design aesthetic.

Transportability

The circuit companion has been designed for easy transportation and comes with its own storage and shipping case. Training is provided so installs and events can be self-sufficient, or we can provide set-up and staffing on an event by event basis.

CREATED TO ENDORSE AND SUPPORT THE FAN EXPERIENCE

Stage two of the development process is to greatly increase the reach of the Circuit Companion App, with a roll out to the general public.

This will build upon the research and development undertaken in Stage One of the timeline. Working with the latest in AR technology, a plethora of items can be used to activate the AR track overlay - an item giveaway at a circuit, an event ticket or pass, or any flat surface.

Systems and Functionality

Built from the ground up to be scalable and expandable, creating a robust system will allow the application to be implemented alongside our partners at events of varying sizes.

Large data requests and application connects, on a global scale, will be managed and maintained during event periods. This, in conjunction with data supplied by the FIA WEC, would enable fans to stream live track data into their augmented experience.

Testing and Integration

The application will have succeeded with testing in Stage One, however a phased deployment of the application for Stage Two would allow for greater stability on the platform as it grows.

Trialing the application at events would allow testing scenarios for the robustness of the service, before its general release. Utilizing Invitation Only Alpha testing and Open Beta testing over the initial events, will mean the application can be continuously developed and maintained during the implementation timeline.

Custom Markers and Displays

The applications availability can be limited to paying guests at an event, if required - doing so by using an event specific marker, such as the attendees ticket, for AR recognition.

Additional augmented activities and displays can be built into event spaces to further promote usage of the service, while also offering additional race data for the fan experience.
